BOX

 Flesh after flesh, it's tough to fight it's tough to strike.

One must sacrifice in order for you to survive.

More like bloody, in serene tranquility.

Dying breaths, it pays a price.

It’ll come till dusk and night.

Make for an envious sight.

All full of fright.

That was the poem we read from this mystery box we just found. It brings creep but we just ignored it, little did we know that it will bring us to hell.

A month ago….

Nel’s POV

“Nel…” someone called me while I was busy scrolling on my phone. As I turn my back, I saw Alnien wearing her oh so called craziest smile while holding a pack of gummies.

“What brings you here, pal?” I asked her.

“Look at this island that I’ve found, such a wonderful place to stay for our vacation” I saw a blissful face as she was holding her phone.

“Oh, it really is a wonderful place to stay on” I replied.

“Wait, I better send this to our group chat.”

After that, Alnien quickly went home because of some emergencies that she needs to handle. As I was binge-watching in my laptop, a call from Warren appeared as he was crying.

“Nel girl, I need your right now” I heard him sobbing on the next line.

“What happened to you? Are you okay?” I asked him with concern.

“Ronnie cheated on me, and it hurts like hell” he answered while crying.

“What really? how did you know?” I replied.

“I saw him in the coffee shop with another man” he explained.

“What if that’s his only friend?”

“Friend?! No nel that’s not his friend because I saw him kissing that boy”

I felt pity on warren Cuz I never saw him cry like this before. I want to punch Ronnie in the face for hurting Warren this bad. An idea come up in my mind as I was watching my friend crying on the sofa.

“Hmm, what about we hang out War, Like island hopping, want that?” I suggested

“that’s a good idea,I bet I need to refresh my mind” as he accepted

“ come with us, I”ll put you in our groupchat so that you can be updated” I said confidently

Warren nodded

The day after, a call from our group chat appeared and everyone was complete. Afterward Alnien send the full details.

 

 

A week ago…

Epifanny’s POV

My jaw dropped as we finally arrive at our destination. WELCOME TO HELL PARADISE! That was the text written on the signage. I feel a little creep but my admiration for the beauty of the place still dominates.

“welcome to hell paradise my dear visitors” A middle aged woman appears at our front and she brings us to our cabin.

Then, the lady left us and we were all alone

I jumped at the bed as we reach our room. I stared at the ceiling and suddenly realized something

“Nel, do you feel something strange on this place?”

“what?, you’re just being paranoid Fan?” she answered me while she fix our clothes in the closet.

 

We heard a knock at our door so we opened it. We saw the rest of our friends holding a liquor and a bunch of foods. I sigh as I already knew what’s going to happen.

“We should enjoy peopleeeee!” April screams while holding a cup. I told April not to make too much noise because we might disturb other people. But she just rolled her eyes and said.

"Kill joy's not allowed here! Come on twerk for me!" And with that they all laugh. I can't help but to laugh as well. What a wild person she is.

The beat of the loud music and a raucous noises of laughters and giggles  from my friends filled the room But something gives me chills not because of them but for some reason,as if there’s someone’s watching us from afar.

“hey, what’s wrong? “ Leanne asked

“nothing, I think there’s someone living in here”

“calm down Fanny, this is our place now, we’re all alone, enjoy with us” she comforted me calmly. I signed and shook my head. Maybe it's just stress urgh. I really need this to clear my mind.

And with that I raised my glass full of liquor and joined the party where everyone was having a great time jumping and laughing their ass off until it was dawn.

Cath’s POV

I was woken up by the relaxing sound of the sea. I got up from bed and do some stretching before going to the balcony and stare at the beautiful scenery. What a great day to start living, wish it could be like this forever. So relaxing.

I walked through the door and saw all my friends in the living room . Everyone was busy preparing for their stuff so that we can go diving.

“hey Cath...” a soft voice called me.

“what’s up?” I respond

It was Warren looking so pale. I touched his forehead to confirm something.

"Gosh you're freezing, why didn't you tell anybody that you have a fever? Tsk tsk."

“I don't want them to worry and also look at them" He pointed out friends. "They all look so excited, I don't want to ruin that. Btw, do you have any medicine with you? I'm kinda dizzy now”

“ Yes I have. Wait ” I said worriedly as I quickly searched my bag.

I gave the medicine to Warren and advised him to take a rest

“ I guess I won’t join diving right now” as he replied. Disappointedly We all know what he been through and our reason why we're here is to chill and also to cheer him up.

"Take the medicine and sleep so you can get your energy back. I'll tell them that you can't join.

I make sure warren was already sleeping before going to my friends and went to the beach.

Alnien’s POV

Everyone was having a great time diving into the fresh and nourishing sea except for Warren who’s laying in our tent. We discovered a lot of fishes and treasures of the ocean. The water and the ocean collided as if it is calling us to stay here forever.

"By the way guys, the old woman reminded all of us not to go deep." April suddenly said. "She's creeping me out so I didn't listen to what she said next and went here." I saw the old woman looking at us from afar. She really is creepy. We all just shrug and continue.

Minutes have passed and everyone now is diving deeper specially Nel  never minding what the old woman said.

Until….

A feeling of uneasiness as I felt like someone’s at my back and my friends was ahead of me. Someone tapped my back and it frightened me as hell but it was just  Fanny all along, pointing at the sky because there’s something that they want to show me.

“just look what I’ve found” as Nel showed an ancient and mystery box. I stared at the box, It look so old yet fashioned.

“woah, that’s so pretty Nel” Leanne said

“let’s take it to the shore so that we can see what’s inside” I suggested as my  excitement overflow.

All of us agreed and We immediately went back, brought the box with us but then a huge thunderstorm came the atmosphere change immediately the sun was nowhere to be found covered by a dark clouds. A cold wind touched ou skin making everyone shiver in fear and all the strange things began.

Warren’s POV

As I went outside from the tent, I saw Nel holding something. It was a box, a very unusual box that I haven’t seen in my whole damn life.

“War you should look at this, it’s really fascinating” as she handled the box to me.

Everyone was so focused until an old woman came to us and warned us about the box

“what have you all done? I warned you not to go deeper but you disturbed them  ” she said panically

All of my friends just looked and laughed at her, I was the only who was affected of what she said. The old woman looked at me with worryness and grief in her eyes.

"you’ll suffer for the rest of your lives" Was the words that she said before she disappeared. I was left dumbfounded because of the old woman. Does she said makes sense?

I was stunned. All of my friends read the note. Nel, Alnien, April , Leanne, Ronnie, including Shielo.

I felt the freezing wind coming from the sea. Hearing those words made me shiver in fear. But everyone seems so normal some of them even laugh.

 A lot of things runs on my mind. But maybe it's just because I have a fever? I ask myself in my head.

Hours had pass and everyone decided to went back to the resthouse. The old woman never showed up again.

“good thing the old woman never came back” as Cath jokingly said.

“true, she was very weird” April replied

“ guys, I’ll bring this box to our house." I said. "It will be a good decor." All of them agreed.

Hours of traveling and we finally got home safely. I was the first person they drop.

"Thanks everyone, babyeee" I said before closing the van and went inside my house. As I finished taking a shower I immediately jump on my bed and dooz off.

"W-warren"

"W-warreeen."

"H-help."

"P-Pleeaasseee warren h-help m-me." A voice. This voice! It's so familiar! But everything's so dark.

"W-Who are you!?" I said desperately. I'm inside a house but this isn't my house! Oh my god! What's happening!?

Someone needs help! Like someone is in danger.

"W-warren..... H-help m-meee. " My tears instantly fell as I saw Nel. Weak, crying and there's blood Oh my god there's blood on Nel's wrist , neck and face.

"Oh goood Nel stoooop!" I screamed as I saw her pointing the knife on her. She keeps crying and her eyes. It's looking for help.

"P-Pleeaasseee help me warren. I d-don't want to d-die." She begged.

 I felt my whole body's shaking in fear. I don't know what to do! I forced my self to move but I can't!

"I can't move any muscle! What the hell is happening!? Oh my god! Nel stoooooooop!" I screamed as loud as I can. Oh my god! My whole body is trembling, cold sweats ran down to my body. My heart skipped a beat and feels like the world has ended when I saw Nel's body lying on the floor. Lifeless.

 

LEANNE'S POV

 

"What are we going to do right now? Nel is dead!" I said "Don't panic ok? We can't escape through from this" Warren assured us "Ok so here's the plan  tonight, we will bring Nel's body at the woods and bury her there " Warren said "What? We're going to bury her in that way? We can give her a proper funeral" I said to him "There's no time, we're in this island and if we go back to the city it will take days!" Warren said "But we are not---" I stop when Ronnie said "Stop it, Leanne!" Warren is right we don't have enough time! Let's just go with his plan" Ronnie said "Ok fine do whatever y'all want to do!" I said and left.

 

THIRD PERSON'S POV

 

It's already late in night and everyone is preparing to bury Nel's body "Is everything ready?" Warren ask "Ughh yeah but

Leanne  is nowhere to be found" Cath said "Don't mind her she'll be back soon" April said "But it's getting pretty late she must be somewhere or---" April cut her off "Don't mind her, let's go to the woods so we can finish bury Nel's body 'cause it's getting stinky" April said and they to the woods.

 

After 3 hours, "I'm gonna miss Nel" Fanny said, crying "We all do" Alnien said and they throw a white flower to the ground where Nel was buried "We should go back now, because what if Leanne is waiting for us now there" Ronnie said "Right! I almost forgot" Warren said.

 

At the resthouse, "Leanne? We're back! Where are you?" Shielo called Leanne name but there's no voice of Leanne answering until "AHHHHHH" they hear a scream from Leanne's  room "What happ---" Shielo said "Leanne! No, no, no this can't be!" Shielo said, they saw Leanne's  body hanging in her room. Dead.

 

CATH'S POV

"We should call the police now" I said "Are you serious? We just buried Nel's body, they'll think that we kill her" Warren said "Then what do we have to do? What's happening?" I said "The old woman!" Fanny said "Remember the old woman and what she said?" Fanny said "And?" I said "Also the BOX the mystery BOX that Nel brought from the sea?" Fanny said "Fanny, what are you trying tell?" I said "That one of us will sacrifice in order to survive" Fanny said "But 2 of them now are dead" I said "Exactly! Slowly, some of us will be face deathe and some will be survive" Fanny said "If that's the case, we should stop it and find the old woman" Warren said.

 

THIRD PERSON'S POV

 

"Y'all ready?" Warren said to his friends "Ready! We should find the old woman and stop the nightmare" Cath said "Ok, let's go" Warren said.

As they walk in the forest to find the old woman April exclaim "I'm already tired" "I can feel it that were already near" Cath said "Hey look! A house!" Ronnie excitedly said "Let's go inside" Cath said. The house looks scary and it's already old. "Hello! Anyone here?" Cath yelled as she knock the front door "Looks like there's no one here" Alnien said. The door suddenly open "Ahmm what's happening?" April said "I don't know, let's just go in" Cath said "Hello! Anyone's here?" Cath yelled again "Welcome my dear visitors" a voice echoed "Look the old woman!" April said "Ahmm Hello Nay?" Cath said "Salvacion" the old woman said, her name is Salvacion "Ah yes Nay Salvacion" Cath said "Look Nay Salvacion we really need your help" Cath said "I know that's why all of you are here" Nay Salvavion said "Come, follow me" Everyone follow Nay Salvacion. They're now gathered in the round table "Where's the BOX" Nay Salvacion said "Ahmm Here" April said "I told all of you this BOX shouldn't be interfere but all of are hard headed" Nay Salvacion said "Why? What's in the BOX?" Cath ask "It's the BOX of the curses and spirits" Nay Salvacion said "And how do we ended it?" Cath said "One must sacrifice again" Nay Salvacion said and the friends are looking at each other now "Is there another way?" Cath ask "I'm sorry but the answer is none" Nay Salvacion said "Unbelievable!" Alnien said "One must sacrifice and don't forget the spell to seal the BOX" Nay Salvacion said "You can leave now" she said.

 

*Back at the resthouse*

"Stupid old woman!" April said in anger "There's another way right? I can't lose another friend" April said "We need a plan, we need to----" April was stop when Shielo said "I will" "What? Are out of your mind?" Cath said "I will sacrifice myself." Shielo said "You can't do that there must be another way!" April said but Shielo didn't talk back. "Then it's final Shielo will sacrifice" Warren said "What? She's our friend Warren!" Cath said "Shielo you don't have to do this we'll find another way" but Shielo didn't listen she insisted that she will sacrifice in order her friends will survive "Just let her! Damn it!" Warren said and Ronnie punch his face "She's our friend OUR FRIEND" Ronnie said and continue punching Warren Cath, April, Alnien are trying to stop them "Stop it, Ronnie!" Cath said "STOP IT!" Shielo yelled and everyone stop and look at Shielo holding a knife "Shielo don't do it! You don't have to do this!" Cath said, crying "Remember I'll always be your friend I'm sorry, I love all of you, my friends." And Shielo took her own life.

 

*After 3 days*

"Is the BOX already seal?" Cath ask "Yup, it's ready now we'll just go to the ocean to place it where belongs" Ronnie said. And they dive deep in the ocean to place the BOX where it belongs nd hopefully no one will find it... again.

Back in the resthouse, Nay Salvacion visited them "Did you enjoy your stay in the island?" she asked "Huh, the auducity to ask that" April said "I guess, it's now time to say goodbye to my lovely visitors." She said and dissappeared.

 Cath, April, Alnien, Warren, Ronnie, Nel, Leanne, and Shielo a group of friends who visited the HELL PARADISE.

 

*After 13 years*

"Hey look what I found!" A guy said to his friends " A BOX? Where did you get it?" His friend said "In the ocean, C'mon let's see what is inside" the guy said...And the nightmare repeated.
